The last blog of the year, and what a year! I don’t know about you but it seems to have raced by. maybe it’s because we’ve packed so much into it.
Last week saw the last ‘Technique of the Month’ and Chris showed everyone how to create ‘Stained Glass’, a variation of applique with bias binding creating the stained glass effect. Lots of cutting and bonding and then sewing to give the finishing touch.
Helen sent me an e-mail earlier this week of her two finished Block of the Month quilts (no pressure – ladies)
Not only is Helen super whizzy fast but she’s also added extra blocks into the design to make the quilts bigger – I’m sure you’ll agree they look fabulous. Somebody is going to receive these beauties for Christmas, very lucky people don’tcha think?
Sandra (one of out ‘Prattle & Patch Wednesday night ladies) bought in her finished ‘Disappearing Nine-Patch’ quilt that she has made for her grandson for Christmas
Ruth popped in to catch up with her block of the month and to choose the binding fabric for this smashing quilt she is making for her daughter.
One of the best things about my job, is being part of all these ladies quilting experiences, they have all become truly addicted to patchwork & quilted and are so enthusiastic, it’s a joy to help and encourage them.
The Corner Patch is now closed for Christmas and will re-open again on January 2nd. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope you get all that you wish for. I hope you get some relaxing time to yourselves and maybe even get some sewing time.
Bye for now, let’s do it all again next year.
