How did it get to be the middle of February already?
We had the finishing off the 2014s ‘block of the month’ day. The ladies were all at different stages, but the results will look fabulous when they are finished, most of them left with unfinished blocks completed and layout ideas. I look forward to seeing them as they get finished.
The second class of this years ‘Block of the Month’ was pinwheel star. Chris taught everyone how to make ‘Flying geese’.Quite a simple block (they will get more complex as the months go on) so some super whizzy people (you know who you are the two Helens) made more than one and some ladies who hadn’t been able to come to the first block were able to catch up.
We had a ‘little stitchers’ Birthday party too. Now normally we make little tote bags, but some of the young ladies attending this party had already done that, so Tracy came up with the idea of making a pencil roll.
we are doing it again for a ‘Little Stitchers Sewing Club’ day on Friday 20th February 10-12.30 – there are still a few places left, so if your know someone 9 years & older, why not see if they want to come along. We always have fun.
We have had some gorgeous fabrics in – beautiful fresh spring colours from Dashwood Studios ‘Fly Away’ designed by Phyllida Cozoneo
and the pretty ‘Make a Wish’ collection from Lewis and Irene, with fairies dancing amongst the dandelions and flowers, what’s not to love?
Lots of ideas of things to make with these fabulous fabrics, just not enough time.
I hope that you are getting spoilt this evening – wined and dined, perhaps? Whatever you’re doing I hope you have fun.
Until next time, Happy Sewing X
