It doesn’t seem 5 mins since we came back from Uttoxeter, but it’s actually nearly a fortnight (where does the time go?) I think I’ve finally put everything back and refilled all the fat quarters.
We’ve had a few classes & workshops…
Chris held a workshop on Barjello using 2 1/2″ strips, – the workshop was very quiet, I think it may have had something to do with the level of concentration required for all the measuring and cutting! we had some fabulous results.
I can’t wait to see the finished results – I hope I don’t have to wait too long ladies!
Tracy’s ‘Bag of the Month’ workshop was a ‘Mini Charm’ Clutch – using a Moda Mini (or Candy) charm pack, a fat quarter & one long quarter of coordinating fabric
I know you’re not supposed to have favourites but I have to say I was very impressed with Tina’s bag – she had cut her own squares in whites and silvers and quilted it with silver thread, she wanted to use it on her holiday in the evenings and I think the ‘blingy’ button just set it off perfectly.
Chris has been teaching this month ‘block of the month’ – Quarter Square Star
we still have a couple of places for this block on Thursday 28th May – if you’d like to have a try.
Today Tracy has held a Pre-Cut Party – what to do with a charm pack – we found a simple(ish) pattern on The Fatquarter Shop’s website called ‘Charm Box’ and the results were brilliant…
Tracy’s will be holding another Pre-cut Party on Wednesday 23rd September using a Layer Cake, why not join us?
Do you struggle with your binding? Chris’s ‘technique’ this month is all about binding – edge to edge and continual – it could be just what you need if you find it all a bit baffling.
I have had a delivery of more(!) gorgeous fabric from Blend called The Makers, beautiful soft muted tones and some lovely panels depicting ladies doing crafts, like sewing, knitting and painting..
I have an idea for a little quilt – so I’m off to get sewing.
Until next time, Happy Sewing X
