ideas for next year!

I’m so lucky to have Chris Franses teaching here at The Corner Patch, not only is she a fabulous teacher, who’s knowledge of patchwork & quilting is immense, she designs and writes beautiful quilt patterns with her company Meadowside Designs and she writes a regular monthly column, Wondering The Web, in British Patchwork and Quilting Magazine.

She has already created the quilt for next years ‘Block of the Month’, the fabulously fun Teacup Quilt.

Next years 'block of the month'

Next years ‘block of the month’

and she has just been into the shop with quilt tops ready for next years ‘Roll Over Quilts’ project….. each month Chris will teach you a patchwork block and you will make nine of them.                                You will use 4 in that months quilt & put 5 to one side for next month.                                           Each month the combination of the current month’s block and last month’s block will create a different over all pattern. Clever, huh!

These are sure to be great fun to do and they are not too big ( but you could make them bigger!) and a great exercise in playing with pattern and colour to get different effects.

I have the dates for all these workshops , my task is to get them written up ( no pressure !) If you can’t wait for the workshop list, and would like to book onto the classes, you could always give me a ring at the shop and I can let you know the dates.

Until next time,                                                                                                                                         Happy Sewing X
