another weeks has whizzed past and I thought you might like to see some of the lovely things that have been made at The Corner Patch over the past few weeks.
Today Chris has been teaching the Log Cabin Star workshop, we didn’t quite come away with a completed quilt top but nearly.
The Friday morning ‘prattle & patch’ ladies have been busy making table runners…..
Donna brought in the beautiful lace trimmed table runner she has made, yes! she made the lace trim herself, she is very talented, I’m sure you’d agree.
Table-runners seem to be the favourite way to try different techniques, because you can try a different patchwork block, but don’t have to make a full size quilt. Small projects are very satisfying.
Sheila however wanted to get her half square triangles right and get the points meeting, so what did she do? she made lots of them, of course and made this lovely quilt top.
She’s says she has no plan for it, but it will be a good project to practice quilting on too.
Sheila James brought in her completed ‘Barjelly’ quilt top, ready to add borders and then quilt it, I think it’s destined to be a Christmas present. I just love the warm, cosy colours.
We have an equally busy week coming up, with a Machine quilting day with Chris on Wednesday and ‘Block of the Month ‘ on Saturday.
It’s Staffordshire Patchwork & Quilter’s monthly meeting on Thursday, always an interesting speaker and it’s my turn for the trade table, so I hope to see you there.
I shall also be trading at Newport Patchwork & Quilters exhibition of quilts at Church Aston St Andrew’s Church and village hall, why not come along and be inspired by all the fantastic quilts on display, enjoy some retail therapy and of course there’s bound to be cake!
I’d better get some fabric cut into fat quarters ready…… until next time… Happy sewing X
