Waves and Curves

We’ve had a lovely workshop with Chris Franses today ‘Curved Piecing’. Something that some patch workers avoid thinking it’s quite difficult, but actually it’s not too hard at all with a bit of concentration and taking it slowly.

Chris demonstrated the formal ‘Drunkard’s Path’ block using templates and then the more improvised ‘free’ cutting, where you take your rotary cutter for a gentle meander.

We had a slightly depleted class with illness and holidays, but Rita and Lesley have had a fun day.

Rita chose the template option and created this chic black & white number

Lesley preferred to have a meander and made these pretty blocks ready to join together.

Our next workshop is on the Wednesday 29th of June with Tracy, she will be showing us how to create this handy ‘Mini-Charm’ Clutch Bag, there is a couple of spaces still left.

Eccleshall Festival starts this week with the Open Gardens, there’s lots going on during the week and next weekend is the popular Victorian street market and the Scarecrow festival held in the church. So if you’ve never visited Eccleshall (where have you been?) then this week could be just the excuse you need.
